This week is Mental Health Awareness week, a topic that is definitely one to be taken seriously, now more than ever.

We are currently all adjusting to the new normal of Covid-19, and as such, this will no doubt be taking a great toll on our mental health. Whether practising the art of self-care, self-awareness and mindfulness, all in the name of a healthy mind, is something that you’re used to doing, or is something completely alien to your day-to-day, one thing is for sure, keeping our minds happy and healthy is something that we could all do with a little but more of at the moment.

Now, at Pistachio, as much as we love everything that Mental Health Awareness Week does to raise awareness for wellbeing, we like to promote the benefits of good mental practice the entire year round. Don’t @ us, we know we’re way too cool for our own good…

So, luckily for you we have lots of blog posts to help you get a grips with ensuring that your mind is as healthy and robust as it should be, whether that means keeping your focused whilst you WFH, helping to keep you sane if you’re heading back to the office, or simply just trying to help you to chill out at home amidst the chaos.

What are you waiting for? Take your pick…

Looking for some top tips on how to be kinder to those around you and why it’s important? No matter how much your colleagues, family, friends or those pesky kids are getting on your nerves, take a read of our It’s Good to be Kind blog.

Have your eating habits taken a nose dive during lockdown? Did you know that what we eat has a huuuuge impact on how healthy are brains are? Read our Food for Thought to make sure that you’re keeping yourself well fuelled for a full day of pandemonium at the office / classroom / insert insanely stressful Covid-induced daytime activity here.

Many of us will be scrolling through our phones and devices a lot more than usual at the moment, and if you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’re guilty of doing just that. However, take a quick look at our two-sided debate on how bad phones really are for our mental health, and then take a break to think about the meaning of life, it’ll help, we promise!

Who doesn’t love a Monday? Right? WRONG. We know that Monday’s can be the absolute worst for anxiety, depression and just the general blues. Even in the middle of a lockdown, where days seem to roll into one, that Monday fear is still very real for all of us. So, take a quick spin of our Happy Monday’s blog and we guarantee that you’ll never look at Monday’s in quite the same ever again.

Despite the fact that we do all need to do it, going back to work isn’t awesome, especially in the middle of (yes I’m going to say it) these unprecedented times. How to cope if you’re stuck with the back-to-work blues? You can try on our light-hearted post holiday blues blog and see whether that helps? Well, you can’t blame us for trying!

A few other Pistachio delights that might help you to focus those healthy minds on something positive and productive, read why practising generosity really does make us happier, why patience really is a virtue in pursuit of limiting your stress levels at work and at home and why faking confidence even on a Zoom call, really can help you to feel better.

Our mental health really does affect all aspects of our life, especially when we’re faced with some of the worst things that life can throw at us. No one knows this better than Pistachio Director Marie, who recently shared with us how she dealt with the grief of losing her beloved husband Dave, whilst still running a business and raising 3 children. We’re sure, like us, that during these trying times, you will be able to find some solace in her words as she describes her journey in dealing with the such a tough situation with genuine candour and humour.

Of the 66 million people living in the UK, it is estimated that 1 in 4 of us will experience a metal health problem each year. Like with any illness, and particularly the virus that is wreaking havoc through our world at the moment, human beings will always endeavour to recover, overcome and manage the various ailments that life throws at them. And in addition, like with any other illness, no one should ever be left to simply endure these things alone.

Please support #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and help to spread the word on supporting mental wellbeing for everyone.
